Abstract A 2.6‐inch TFT‐LCD with 1920 × 1080 pixels which conforms to full advanced TV (ATV) format has been developed. An 8‐bit digital data driver with digital‐to‐analog converters (DACs), which can realize 256 level gray scale, has been integrated in monolithic driver. In addition, the circuit using the high mobility and low threshold voltage TFTs can operate directly on 80 MHz digital video data with 5 V supply voltage.
