A newly developed electrophoretic display(EPD) using the microcapsule technique is reported. The EPD is composed of two films with electrodes and microcapsulated suspensions having a diameter of 40 to 60 micrometers sandwiched in between. Besides lower current consumption, longer power‐off display memory and others, the significant merit is the increased possibilities of structuring to meet a wide variety of applications, e.g., fine‐pitched display, large‐area‐matrix, etc.
