Polysilicon LCD projection technology has advanced to the point that it is now worthy of consideration for the demanding requirements of fast‐jet flight simulation visual displays. Other technologies show promise of introducing more options and all of these will offer benefits of high stability, low cost, high brightness and on‐going improvement as much larger markets drive demand. This paper explores how such opportunities are now being exploited in the development of fully immersive dome projection systems.
