From the results of measurements involving transient response and dented voltage waveforms, a new model for luminance and current in SrS:Cu ACTFEL devices is developed. It includes the the backflow of electrons form the anodic interface states, field dependent capture of electrons by ionized activators and the effect of bulk phosphor dipoles.
