For color plasma display panel, discharge characteristic is one of the most important part. Proper gas mixture matched to the panel is needed for using effective energy recovery circuit and decreasing the power consumption. In this paper, we suggest new types of gas mixture; (Ne:He‐7:3)‐(∼10%Xe) to achieve good performance for driving waveform as the function of gas pressure, Xe mixing ratio, He to Ne mixture etc. As increasing Xe, He mixing ratio and gas pressure lead to the decreasing of delay time and increase the luminance efficiency.
