The BAM (BaMgAl 10 O 17 :Eu 2+ ) solid solution with the barium‐poor aluminate (Ba 0.75 Al 11 O 17.25 ) developed in the present work shows the strong resistant property to the thermal degradation, such as luminous efficiency and the color coordinates compared to the conventional BAM. From adopting the BAM solid solution system, it is confirmed that the luminous degradation and the alteration of the color coordinate y value after heat treatment are improved to be about 1/7 and 1/12 of those of the conventional BAM, respectively.
