Main features of the design and mass production of high reliable LCDs operating under extremal temperature and humidity conditions are discussed using multiplexed LCDs for cold and hot water counters as an example. There was found out the mechanism of breaking of LCD's hermeticity, caused by the corrosion damages of a lead in a “bottle‐neck” design. We are presenting here the developed basic technology of LCDs production for the usage under severe climatic and temperature conditions.
