Taiwan's TFT‐LCD industry, which has been growing rapidly since 1997, is recognized as another blooming high tech business after semiconductor industry. In the next two to three years, Taiwan will soon become one of the three major players, two of which are Japan and Korea. However, some key components supply industries, engineering resources and in‐house capability for advanced process and product technologies are tree constraints for the growth of the Taiwan's TFT‐LCD industry.
