Reflective displays have been fabricated using Interferometric Modulators (IMods), which are interference based MEMS devices. The displays have exhibited reflectivities in excess of 80%, contrast ratios greater than 12:1, viewing angles up to ± 60°, and drive voltages < 5 volts. They are being developed for portable electronic applications, and their status will be discussed.
