Candescent's ThinCRT display technology development for mainstream flat panel display commercial markets has been driven by market economics and performance, i.e., low cost, high visual quality, and low power consumption. Scaling of field emission cathode emitter structures to sub‐micron dimensions has allowed utilization of CMOS low power driver devices to achieve high visual performance, low system cost, and low power consumption.
