A new high power inverter system switching the high voltage 60 Hz rectified from home electric power of AC 120 or 220 V, is introduced as a potential application to large area backlights assembled with parallel connected multi‐lamps. The slim and compact inverter of high power over 200 W has been achieved on a single stage for the backlight of large area monitors or TVs whose diagonal length are up to 40 inch.
