As a wide viewing angle technology required for the widespread use of TFT‐LCD, the practicality of PVA technology has been reviewed. Current ongoing research that has been explored includes response time less than one frame rate, color performance enhancement, light efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction approach to exploit multi‐media applications in TFT‐LCDs.
