One chip area color OLED(Organic Light Emitting display) driver with 16 grayscale had been developed to drive PM(passive matrix) OLED panel. The developed OLED driver was designed on the 0.6um CMOS process with 16V high voltage and is composed of MPU interface, embedded memory, LUT handler, internal oscillator, scan driver, data driver and bias circuit to control the current. An 1.7inch PM OLED panel with 128 data and 128 scan channels had been fabricated to test the driver and to demonstrate the image. The COF(Chip On Film) method is used in the connection between one chip OLED driver and PM OLED panel. A controller was designed to control the driver for emulating MCU(micro‐control unit). A good image with 16 grayscale is displayed on the 128 × 128 OLED panel. The one chip OLED driver consumes the power about 0.1Watt when the full white image is displayed.
