Motion picture quality of several LCDs is evaluated by both quantitative and subjective evaluation methods. In general, the value of the quantitative parameter MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) is clearly related with the subjective evaluation, and a large value of the correlation coefficient between the value MPRT and subjective evaluation is obtained. The quality of LCDs with black insertion and over‐driving methods is better than that of LCDs without these methods, on both the MPRT and the subjective evaluation.
