We have studied the detailed fabrication processes of vertically‐aligned liquid crystal displays prepared by a photo‐alignment method. We show that the vertically‐alignment film with weak polar anchoring strength is very suitable for generating large pretilt angle with considerable low UV energy exposure less than <1.5 J/cm 2 .
