We reported improved performance of a new in‐plane structure. The characteristics of driving voltage, response time and shield effect of electric field cross‐talk are dramatically improved by introducing a collecting electrode embedded in the spacer that surrounds each pixel. A test cell exhibits excellent performance of switching with total duration time of 280 ms at 10 V and reproduced a gray scale in 260 dpi image by shielding the cross‐talk.
