Historically, the realization of passive‐matrix addressing has been a critical issue in the development of electrochromic displays. We report on electrochromic passive‐matrix displays based on viologen‐derivatized films of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. High and uniform contrast is obtained for laboratory devices with few pixels.
