In this paper, we introduce an optical configuration of a transflective AFLC display mode for both high transmittance and reflectance. The transflective mode we proposed before has high reflectance in reflective mode, but transmittance is low when it is operated as transmissive mode. To improve the low transmittance of the transflective AFLCD, a Dual‐AFLC cell is used which has high transmittance efficiency and excellent dispersion characteristics. For both the reflective and the transmissive modes, it provides high transmittance and reflectance, and shows excellent dispersion characteristics.
