Abstract A structure and a driving technique of a PDP having a deltanabla structure are introduced. The number of data electrodes is half that of the conventional PDPs. An adequate control of priming charges resulted in 51 contiguous subfield expression with 1,700cd/m 2 green luminance, 580:1 contrast, 50V data and scan pulse voltages, and variable gamma characteristics to attain matching with the eye perception.
