In this paper, we describe an electronics drive system for a high resolution reflective liquid crystal on silicon active matrix (LCOS) display. Performance objectives and system level features are reviewed and discussed and the partitioning of a practical system described. The design approach to this complex mixed signal circuitry and the resulting two ASICs are reviewed.
