We have developed a thermal analysis model and full 3‐dimensional finite element thermal analysis using ANSYS for the whole LCoS engine including lamp, IR filter, fly's eye integrator arrays, PBS array, polarizer, PBS and dichroic cubes, etc. Temperatures for all the components of the engine were computed and verified with the experimental results. Some guidelines to aid thermal management and design were presented.
