Preparation and luminescent characteristics of blue‐emitting BaMgAl 10 O 17 :Eu 2+ phosphor with spherical shape for PDP application has been investigated by aerosol pyrolysis technique. Phosphor particles with spherical morphology and narrow size distribution are being considered as a suitable material for screen luminescence and high resolution than irregular shaped particles obtained by solid‐state method. In this work, good morphology particles could be obtained by controlling process conditions such as synthesis temperature and solution concentration, and also photoluminescent characteristics of particles were compared to those of commercial particles under VUV excitation.
