We report on the new method of optimizing AG properties for high definition LCDs. This method consists of ray tracing simulation and surface topography simulation. Ray tracing simulation gives us a quantitative description of AG properties. And combining this simulation with surface topography simulation, we have succeeded in designing a novel AG film for high‐definition LCDs.
