A new AC PDP pixel structure with Segmented electrode in Delta color arrayed Rectangular subpixel (SDR) shows high luminance and luminous efficiency simultaneously compared with those of the conventional type AC PDP. The luminous characteristics of a new SDR structure were analyzed with 3‐dimensional numerical simulation and ray optics calculation. Also, the test panels of SDR structure were fabricated and their addressing charcateristics were examined.
