In projectors based on 3‐panel architectures using reflective LCDs polarizing beam splitters are key elements for separating dark state form bright state. RGB separation and recombination is performed by dichroics. A new architecture based on a PBS and a dichroic prism will be presented and important characteristics will be discussed.
