Abstract We have developed a high contrast micro‐cell liquid crystal display by microstructure replication technology. This novel flexible LCD technology comprises micro‐cell replication process, alignment treatments, and cell assembly process. Compared with photopolymerisation‐induced phase separation, the micro‐cell LCD has higher contrast ratio, and reliable manufacturing process. This technology can be a good solution for high performance flexible LCD.
