Abstract An infrared laser Thomson scattering (LTS) system is newly developed so that LTS is applicable to measurements of electron density and electron temperature of PDP micro‐discharge plasmas produced in Ne/Xe gas mixtures. The first experimental result shows that the performance of the system is good enough for the present purpose.
