A simple model to calculate change in wall voltage at ramp‐discharge in three‐electrode AC‐PDPs was developed. The locus of the cell voltage during the ramp setup can be graphically portrayed on a cell voltage plane. During ramp discharging, the cell voltage point moves along the Vt close curve. A new ramp setup waveform with a wide voltage margin was designed using this technique.
