A data driver using energy recovery circuit with one inductor and two capacitors (L2C) of L‐C resonant phenomenon, which has been used in PDPs, is proposed for low‐power TFT‐LCDs. Experimental results show that 78.8% of AC power can be saved for TFT‐LCDs with SXGA resolution. The proposed L2C energy recovery circuit has very simple structure that it can be realized with very small area‐overhead.
