Mobile AMLCD display modules should have a low power consumption. Detailed modeling of the power consumption of different drive schemes has shown that power savings can be made through drive scheme choice. Novel modifications of the drive schemes for various display modes has allowed Philips Semiconductors to design an AMLCD driver chipset which achieves a considerable reduction in power consumption.
