Embedded video in a PC graphics stream needs to be processed with separate TV‐style hue and saturation controls and gamma compensation. This requires detection and localization of the video content. Our algorithm uses spatial and temporal characteristics of video to determine the coordinates of an embedded video window. This memory‐efficient architecture has been successfully implemented in a VLSI digital display controller.
