We investigated discharge characteristics of Ne+N 2 gas‐mixture for the possibility of being used in an AC Plasma Display Panel. The firing and the minimum sustain voltage increase with increase of N 2 concentration. The luminous efficiency of Ne+N 2 gas‐mixture with 300∼360 nm wavelength ultra violet excited phosphor[(Ba, Sr) 2 SiO 4 : Eu] relatively increases with increase of N 2 concentration.
