A generic design for liquid‐crystal‐on‐silicon microdisplay features Vcom modulation for low voltage operation, Gamma correction and frame‐at‐a‐time refresh for high duty ratio color sequential application is presented. A sample QVGA LCoS microdisplay was designed with a 0.6μm CMOS process based on this generic design methodology.
