This paper proposes a novel data‐line multiplexing technique for low cost / high resolution AMLCDs. This scheme reduces the number of data lines and driver chips required by half without enormous multiplexer circuits in peripheral. The technical feasibility of this method have been demonstrated with application prototype on 15‐inch SXGA+(1400×1050) AMLCD with a‐Si technology.
