We describe design and performance of bright, high‐contrast front‐projection screens, which are optimized for use in unpolarized ambient light. These screens use polarized LCD projectors and have a Thin Crystalline Film (TCF) polarizing layer that absorbs ambient light to increase contrast. Screen gain and reflectivity control viewing angle and brightness.
