We have developed TN mode transflective TFT‐LCDs with higher transmittance by integrating polarizers inside the cell with single cell‐gap. This technology improves transmittance up close to that of transmissive TFT‐LCDs and also improves chromatic performance and contrast ratio outdoors by reducing ambient light influence.
