. The main competencies of nursing staff are clinical, communication and digital. Qualitative changes in competencies are associated with evidence-based nursing practice and digitalization of healthcare. The aim is the study the influence of motivational strategy on the development of nursing competencies through the prism of generational theory. Materials and methods. Data from sociological surveys of 317 nurses, assessment of 411 nurses on their participation in nursing research. Results. The use of generational theory and motivation theory by the management of medical organizations contributes to the creation of an atmosphere of professional and personal growth in the team, increases the authority of the nurse profession, and increases clinical, communication and digital competencies. Conclusion. The senior nursing corps is the leading link that responds to new challenges to the nursing profession. Planning for the development of nurses’ competencies should be accompanied by training and other active training methods.
