
TO HISTORY OF THE STRUGGLE AGAINST TUBERCULOSIS IN CHILDREN OF EARLY AGE IN THE USSR (ACCORDING TO DATA OF CITIES OF MOSCOW AND SAMARA)

On the base of the studying some archival sources of the Soviet period and scientific publications there is presented the analysis of the morbidity and mortality rate of children with tuberculosis, aged of from 0 to 3 years in the city of Moscow and the Samara (Kuibyshev) region. In this publication there are reported data concerning methods of the early diagnostics, measures of the struggle against this socially important infectious disease. There is shown the urgency of the problem at different stages of the development of the country, the need to strengthen prophylaxis for the prevention of the spread of tuberculosis. Owing to investigations of domestic scientists, arrangement of the accessible and effective treatment, the establishment of a wide network of tuberculosis dispensaries, the work on the implementation of the intradermal vaccination with BCG in the broad clinical practice, there was achieved a significant decline in the level of the incidence of tuberculosis and mortality rate from it among the children population. The experience of the creation of the state system of health care of children in the USSR was used for the optimal solution of modern problems in the field of domestic child phthisiatry
