The article is devoted to the topical issue - the treatment of one of comon surgical diseases of adolescence - varicocele. We discuss historical aspects of the attitude to the problem and studies carried out in children's surgery in our country, current views on the pathogenesis of the infertility, modern trends in the tactics of observation and treatment of 429 varicocele patients aged 10-18 years. The need for a differentiated approach to the appointment of the examination and treatment, depending on the type of varicocele and concomitant diseases, is considered.
