The article is dedicated to the scientific and practical teaching improvement’s grounding of «Emergency medicine» and «Disaster medicine» subjects at the medical universities. Basic directions of methodological teaching improvement are considered inhere. Modern and effective forms and methods of teaching, which were developed and implemented at the departments of «Life safety» and «Disaster medicine» were presented. This directions can be considered as a possible resumptive model for a teaching at the medical universities in Russia. The enhancement of readiness for practice during disaster is the main goal.
