The authors evaluated the body weight and daily energy expenditure of women performing occupational activity under different conditions: office work, outdoor work and mixed conditions (mixed office and outdoor work). The women were stratified into following age groups: 25-30, 30-35, 35-40 and 40 years and older. The significant differences were observed in energy expenditure between women worked under mixed conditions and performed outdoor work and women engaged in the office work (22,8% and 50,9%, respectively) as well as differences were noted between second and third groups (23,0%). The different working conditions exerted the influence upon the body weight. According to age groups, weight gain was lower in women with higher physical activity. There were significant differences in portion of persons with normal body weight in elder age groups. The increase of portion of persons with obesity was less significant.
