O OLHAR DE DAMIÃO: uma leitura da paisagem na obra “Os Tambores de São Luís”

Para este trabalho ser cumprido utilizei o romance de Josué Montello, Os Tambores de São Luís, como base fundamental. Levando em consideração o apreço do escritor por São Luís, trouxe o personagem Damião para cá, com a expectativa de representar seus sentimentos, experiências e memórias, como forma de representação simbólicas da categoria acima citada. Este trabalho só pode ser realizado muito em função dos teóricos da Geografia Humanista, que deram uma luz nas interpretações de categorias geográficas.Palavras-chave: Paisagem; Literatura; Geografia Humanista; Josué Montello.ABSTRACTThe following article aims to investigate the Landscape category, more especially bringing to the fore the relations between Art and Science, that is, Literature and Geography. For this work to be fulfilled I used the novel by Josué Montello, Os Tambores de São Luís, as a fundamental basis. Taking into account the writer's appreciation for São Luís, he brought the character Damião here with the expectation of representing his feelings, experiences and memories, as a symbolic representation of the category mentioned above. This work can only be done very much according to the theorists of Humanist Geography, who have shed light on the interpretations of geographic categories.Keywords: Landscape; Literature; Humanist Geography; Josué Montello.RESUMENEl artículo tiene como objetivo investigar la categoría Paisaje, más especialmente trayendo a la luz las relaciones entre Arte y Ciencia, es decir, entre la Literatura y la Geografía. Para este trabajo se utilizó como base fundamental la novela de Josué Montello, Os Tambores de São Luís. Poniendo en consideración el aprecio del escritor por São Luís, presenta al personaje Damião, com la expectativa de representar sus sentimentos, experiências y memorias, como forma de representación simbólica de las categorias citadas arriba. Este trabalho sólo puede ser analizado en el marco de las teorías de la Geografía Humanista, que da el sustento a la interpretación de las categorías geográficas indagadas.
