Este artigo discute o racismo ambiental e as correlações com o esquecimento e a seletividade estatal ligados à problemática racial, fazendo um estudo de caso do Quilombo Vidal Martins e suas relações no território onde também se encontra o Parque Estadual do Rio Vermelho/PAERVE, em Florianópolis, SC. Trata-se de um estudo com base bibliográfica, documental, entrevistas e questionários com os atores envolvidos buscando na análise de conteúdo a reconstrução histórica da realidade. Por meio da pesquisa empírica e da observação foi possível compreender e apresentar elementos que demonstram como o racismo estrutural se reconfigura em injustiça e racismo ambiental desta Comunidade de remanescentes de pessoas escravizadas, indicando uma seletividade do Estado em políticas ambientais que tende a reproduzir estas situações estruturais criando uma contraditória "preservação socialmente predatória".ENVIRONMENTAL RACISM, FORGETFULNESS, AND STATE SELECTIVITY: Quilombo Vidal Martins and the Rio Vermelho State Park/SCAbstractThis article discusses environmental racism and the correlations with forgetfulness and state selectivity linked to racial issues, making a case study of Quilombo Vidal Martins and its relations in the territory where the Rio Vermelho/PAERVE State Park is also located, in Florianópolis , SC. This is a study based on bibliography, documents, interviews and questionnaires with the actors involved, seeking, in content analysis, the historical reconstruction of reality. Through empirical research and observation, it was possible to understand and present elements that demonstrate how structural racism is reconfigured in injustice and environmental racism in this Community of remnants of enslaved people, indicating a selectivityof the State in environmental policies that tends to reproduce these structural situations creating a contradictory "socially predatory preservation".Keywords: Structural racism; Social debt; Environmental policy; IMA/SC Environment Institute; Socially predatory preservation.
