O presente artigo visa problematizar a importância da notificação compulsória como instrumento de viabilização dos direitos sociais voltados para as mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica. Expõe a necessidade da ampliação do atendimento à saúde das mulheres e apresenta o perfil da rede de saúde do município de São Gonçalo. Portanto, contribui para a promoção da reflexão e do mapeamento da efetivação de políticas públicas direcionadas ao combate a violência às mulheres nos espaços privados.Palavras-chave: Violência doméstica, mulheres, notificação compulsória.DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, GENDER AND PUBLIC POLICIES: questioning the compulsory notification in São Gonçalo/RJAbstract: This article aims to discuss the importance of mandatory reporting as a tool for enabling social rights for women facing domestic violence. Exposes the need to expand health care for women and presents the profile of the health system in São Gonçalo.
