The combined effect of dyslipidemia and high blood pressure largely contributes to the development and progression of cardiovascular diseases, and therefore the control of these risk factors should be a priority strategy both within primary and secondary prevention. A concept of a polypill, which provides effective control of both blood pressure and lipid prole, is a promising strategy. It allows of controlling several factors of the cardiovascular continuum, and contributes to a higher patient adherence to treatment. Therefore, the wider implementation of a polypill strategy will improve patients’ prognosis and quality of life.
