The paper addresses the problem of efficient organization of the registration process to assure short queues and waiting times at the registration of participants at the conference event. A simulation model of the participants’ registration in an educational event was developed using AnyLogic PLE software. Data was collected from a particular event in 2019. Based on the developed simulation model, an appropriate allocation of registration points at three different entrances was defined to assure short queues. The model was developed for a specific venue - Cankarjev dom, and can be used for other events at this venue as well. With specific adaptations, the model can be used in the time of COVID -19 pandemics, as it allows simulating the process taking into account the proposed social distance.
