The in-depth development of the Made in China 2025 strategy provides new directions and goals for the development of China’s manufacturing industry. By 2025, China will transform into a manufacturing powerhouse and basically achieve industrialization, digitalization, networking and intelligent development. This social background has brought new opportunities and challenges to the education activities of China’s machinery design and automation professionals. As a professional subject with strong practicality, to build a brand-new practical teaching system in the new era is the focus of the profession to cater to social development. In this regard, this article starts with the status quo of the practical teaching of the Mechanical Design and Automation major, and explores the construction of a new practical teaching system, aiming to cultivate mechanical manufacturing talents with more practical and application capabilities.
