The article is devoted to the evaluation of innovative potential of scientific organizations. Innovation potential is the core of the overall capacity of the organization, the constituent elements of which is industrial-technological, scientific, technical, financial and economic, personnel, organizational and management capacity, as well as the degree of readiness of the organization to innovate. The problem of estimation is the lack of assessment of complex research, methodological development and conceptualapproaches to the assessment of the innovative capacity and efficiency of its use. This article analyzes the works of scientists for research evaluation of innovative potential of the organization. A review of currentapproaches to the assessment of innovative potential, will bring them disadvantages. Comparative analysistechniques indicate their variety of methodological basis of the research and innovation potential assessmentmethods. The most common group of three assessment methods: point scoring, evaluation on the basis ofstatistical, quantitative data, a mixed assessment option. The approach to assessing the innovative potentialof scientific activity. It was found that the diagnosis of the innovation potential of research institutionsshould be integrated. Objective assessment of the value of the innovation potential can be achieved with the correct selection of indicators to characterize the complex potential on various grounds.
