Resumo Propõe-se a refletir sobre o fenômeno da interdisciplinaridade, com base nos estudos de Gusdorf (1967), Japiassu (1976), Fazenda (1993, 1995, 2009), Pombo (1994, 2003) e Nicolescu (1999). Investiga a gênese da interdisciplinaridade, explicitando as fases que compõem esse movimento. Em seguida, descreve algumas das concepções de interdisciplinaridade mais em uso, uma vez que são inúmeras as controvérsias em torno do significado do termo. Por último, discute os enfoques interpretativos dos teóricos da Ciência da Informação que a caracterizam como uma disciplina interdisciplinar.Palavras-Chave Interdisciplinaridade, Ciência da Informação, Pesquisa, Saber científico, Conhecimento.Abstract We aim to think over the phenomenon of interdisciplinarity, based on the studies of Gusdorf (1967), Japiassu (1976), Fazenda (1993, 1995, 2009), Pombo (1994, 2003) and Nicolescu (1999). We investigate the genesis of interdisciplinarity, explaining the phases that make up this movement. Then we describe some of the most used conceptions of interdisciplinarity, since there are numerous controversies around the meaning of the term. After that, discusses the interpretative approaches of information science theorists that characterize it as an interdisciplinary discipline.Keywords Interdisciplinarity, Information Science, Research, Scientific knowledge, Knowledge.
