The article is devoted to the study of the essence of the administrative and legal migration policy of the Russian Federation and the significance of its influence on the regulation of migration processes. From the standpoint of administrative law, the author substantiates the relationship between the existing global migration crisis and the lack of a purposeful course that states should follow in the field of migration relations. The modern approaches of domestic scientists to the definition of the concept of «migration policy», The author’s formulation of this phenomenon is given, administrative and legal means and administrative and legal methods of its implementation are considered and analyzed.
